About Rivendell

Rivendell Books was established in 1992 as a used and new bookstore and is located at 100 Main Street in Montpelier, Vermont. We are a general bookstore that offers an eclectic and ever changing selection of new, used and unusual books for sale. We also buy books from the general public for store credit or cash. Our inventory is ever changing because of the constant buying and selling of used books, so you never know what you might find on Rivendell’s shelves from day to day.

Rivendell Books is a member of VABA (Vermont Antiquarian Booksellers Association) and is owned by Robert Kasow and Claire Benedict, who also own Bear Pond Books which is an all new bookstore and is located at 77 Main Street in Montpelier.
